Cryptic ebay message when I try to buy it now

Gents

I am trying to buy a card now on ebay and get this message:

Unfortunately, the seller cannot accept your bid on this item. This can happen for a couple of reasons. For example, the seller may be limiting how many items you can buy from him or her in a specific time period.

I can't send a message to the seller either. I am guessing the seller put a halt on items or ebay is looking into something. I have purchased from seller before with no issue.

Any experience with this?

You could have made his BBL; maybe in error. (A lot of sellers
are misinterpreting who left "low stars" and are blocking the
    wrong buyers.)

You might have reached his "limit," if he has it set too low.

Interesting. I have bought from battersbox before and left nothing short of great feedback. Since I cannot message the dealer either I guess I will never know. Here's the link. If someone wouldn't mind seeing if they can message/hit the BIN button, I would appreciate knowing.

    Thanks

By "great" do you mean 5 stars for *everything*?

Tried it with two random IDs. No problem.

Gotta be something on your end.

You can email him, via your last PayPal receipt from him.

I get this when I try to message from the last purchase.

We're sorry we couldn't find an answer for you. Unfortunately, this seller is not able to respond to your question. We suggest reviewing the item again to see if your answer is in the seller's listing.

I looked up the feedback and it was positive so I'm certain it was 5 star. Guess I made the list. If anyone talks to him, please let him know I'm sorry for whatever I did and would like to make another buy.

did you ever ask them questions?
I have blocked bidders that asked me what I considered to be weird or troubling questions
which seemed to be a precurser to a headache transaction

Naw, nothing like that. I sent an email to his comcast email advertised on his website. If I get an answer I will post it here. My thinking is this must have been a mistake blocking.

You can also automatically wind up on a seller's blocked list if they've set up more strict bidder requirements. You can automatically be blocked if you don't have a PayPal account, or have any unpaid item strikes, or located in a country a seller doesn't ship to.

Some sellers are very protective of their reputation and seller account. You recently posted about a problem you had with 4SC that wasn't a problem at all, just slow going through postal system. This happens to all buyers from time to time but few ever feel the need to post a story about it and question the seller's reputation over such a non-issue. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you wound up on several blocked lists from sellers reading the post and not wanting to deal with you for making such an issue over nothing.

Not saying that's what happened here but it's similar to blocking people for asking peculiar questions. Sometimes it's better safe than sorry.

kbk may have solved the mystery.

It is VERY common for sellers to BBL anybody who is perceived
to have made an unwarranted complaint about another seller.

Don't blame the sellers; blame the EvilBAY empire.

Can't argue KbK as righteousness is thine. If this is the case I guess my lesson is learned. While my contrition is real, I will accept that a number of vendors are no longer interested in my business. To their credit 4SC holds no such grudge.

No offense to anyone, but I always see these "block this bidder" threads started sometimes with very little evidence. But now if it happens to you it's a poor system...

Not at all. This makes perfect sense to me. It did not occur to me when I started the (potentially) offending thread in June that I was burning any bridges. After dozens of successful transactions over the last 2 years, three straight purchases resulted in 1 card never making it (and promptly refunded) and 2 orders take (what I deemed) considerably more time than the others. I tried my best to temper my language so as not to accuse but rather see if anything was up at the vendor. Every thing was resolved satisfactorily in the end.

That said, I can see how I may be viewed as trouble. It's just that I had never been blocked before so I submitted my question to understand what was happening. The answers in this thread were a revelation. Hopefully the current blocker gets the email I sent this morning and decides to sell to me.

I will take my medicine and hope any other sellers reading who might have me blocked consider lifting the embargo as I meant no harm.

    Peace be the journey

I got a questiion once from someone I had blocked. I unblocked him and let him make a purchase.

I thought it said somewhere when you tried to bid on an item and was blocked, it would tell you to contact the seller. Was long time ago though so it's probably changed or maybe there's an option to refuse questions
