lol or the plane landed in a River, personally I think the Post office neglected to take care of it properly, I would suppose the damage has occurrd on my side of the pond, as it is rainy here this week. But cant sum1 maybe chat to the USPS and get them to make these boxes water proof? So next time my boat tips my cards will still be dry?

Two questions. Is this part of the group rip shipping? Did you take the insurance?
  • Not part of group rip.

No idea if i payd insurance, I pay standard Flat rate international large box shipping, 58$ i believe...

BBCE should make good on it - I'm amazed at how well Steve has taken care of his customers on here, including one time he refunded money because the group rip wasn't good enough, there were lots of unseen badly stained cards in the unopened packs, and he gave them their money back which astonished me...because I had never seen before a refund on unopened packs, especially when the packs were ripped! Steve is quite the good businessman, no doubt about it.

And I've had that happen also once - the customer package arrived soaking wet. How the Post Office soaks packages I'll never know? image
  • Morning,

You shouldn't have opened the box, I would have gone straight to my Post Office and opened box in front of them.

acid, i agree with the notion that you contact Steve and explain what happened to your stuff....you have the photos to support your story....without trying to seem crass (English punkers image ) about your situation, i don't believe this is a truckload of cash you spent here, but it is your cash and you deserve what you paid for.

I'd expect that in this case the shipping costs more than the product.

  • Yeah 1stly It wasnt a boatload of money I spent here, I spent 50$ on the items and 58$ on the shipping, Im pretty sure this isnt Steves Fault, and Im pretty sure my Post office will just laugh at me.... This is the South African Post service, worst in the world, im actually surpirised the packages hadnt been 'looked' thru as is normally the case. I mean the Square box looked like a soccer ball when I picked it up.... There were some loose sealed packs that i had ordered and they were bubble wrapped, After cutting them out, my hand was literally dripping in water, Luckily i dont think it has ruined the packs, but i have notices some of the packs are ripped in the corners, Im still at work now, and will only be able to see the full damage when I get home and start going thru it all a bit moer carefully...

    thanks

Let's not forget, 1acid lives in AFRICA, there is nothing that BBCE could have done to stop this from happening unless he shipped it inside a steel raft. This is obviously a FAIL on the USPS's part, and nothing anyone else can do unless the buyer paid to have it insured.

Sorry to see this happen, but if BBCE can't ship you a secure box, then nobody can.

  • Africa? Wow I didn't know that. This is not Steve's fault I can say with certainty. I have never heard of a complaint of his shipping of an item. Now the post office, well that's obviously another story. If you paid the insurance, then contact Steve and he'll fix it with the insurance.

Is it worth even filing the claim though? He might just ship you some more wax. Traveling all that way... Sorry that this happened, but that box traveled how many miles?

It will get handled, just reach out to Steve.

I'll tell you what... Since you like junk wax (as do I), PM me your shipping address and I'll send you a bunch of late 80's/early 90's unopened packs so you won't have to make Steve & BBCE send another box or refund your money. It won't be multiple boxes of cards, but I've got a little stash I'm willing to share.

And if anyone else wants to add a few packs to the box, PM me. I'll take care of the shipping to Africa. Since you're new Craig, I'd like to help you out.

Anyways Steve replied to my email, obviously as you all have stated was immediate to try and rectify and offered credits on the 3 damaged boxes, even though it is clearly not his fault. I told him not to worry- he had a a funny idea on how it was shipped :

"Wow! It looks like it was sent to you in the ocean on the back of a rubber dingy! "
haha I liked that, anyways I appreciate your guys offers but you don't have to,if only the world was so kind image if you want you can pm as I cant figure out how to pm.

    Thanks for all the help!!

  • definitely not BBCE fault, and I believe since this was a flat rate box according to USPS website "Limited indemnity coverage provided at no extra charge" which I believe is like 40 to 60 dollars free insurance + insurance is available , so BBCE might have insured it.

if BBCE didn't insure it and it was my package , I would just eat the loss as some of the product is salvageable. remember to tell sellers on future purchase to wrap product in waterproof bags.

that package looks like it was left out in the rain and then had a 50lb box dropped on top of it.

I guess in ending: "just shoot the messenger/postal worker". just be happy it was junk wax boxes and not 76,81,84 FB Boxes.

sorry this happened to you and I hope things work out for you.
  • Thanks for the help guys. Definately seal everything if shipping to Africa in the future...

I have replied to your PM, but how do I innitiate a pm?

    Thanks again

It's not USPS's fault either. When the item leaves the US shore, it goes into the hands of the foreign carrier. The USPS doesn't have any international tracking.

Was also going to recommend getting into the hobby of coins or gold and silver. But customs in Africa is highly likely to just straight up steal gold/silver from you or with your luck the gold and silver bubble will burst once you get into it causing gold to drop to $500 and silver to $10. Please forwarn me so I can sell all my gold and silver if you get into the market. image

Really though sorry about your luck, seems like the post office service in Africa played football with the box then delivered it.
