NEWP from CRO

After forgetting to log-in and bid on the Stacks coin I really wanted, I consoled myself by paying a nice premium on a very attractive PCGS AU58 1809 Mo HJ 8 Reales from Coin Rarities Online that would make a great pair to the PCGS AU58 1809 Mo TH already in my collection. Big thanks to Dave @ CoinRaritiesOnline for great customer service. Can't wait to receive it.

Hope you like the look of it as much as I do:

And here's the one I currently own (Purchased from Bill (WWW) all those years ago):

Very pretty premium quality coin that you should quickly forget the premium you paid to acquire it! image

Nice purchase indeed. The new kid on the block might have an edge in that duel at high noon.

Yes, much better obverse at head on new, tone a bit more enticing on the oldie.

Thanks, guys. It's a scarcer assayer HJ, strike is rather very good for this year with only minimal weakness, and buckets of eye-appeal.

Great pickup. You sure know how to pick'em.

Nice pick-up! You can console yourself knowing the CRO guys probably paid a premium as well.

Great quality coins pay in the long run, CRO does consistently offer coins with nice eye appeal.

A Great lookin 58 - super pick up!
Looks like more of a soft strike than wear - hmm on a bad eye day - that might easily grade 61 image

The armored bust series of Fernando VII are notorious for their weak strike.

Here are a couple of other examples:

1810/09 (PCGS AU50): Pulled this one out of an old ANACS 45 holder.

1810 HJ (PCGS XF45): On top of the weak strike it must've also been a late state die, judging by the amount of die breaks.

Received the coin today and it's gorgeous. Dripping with luster. I'm in a middle of a move right now, but once I'm settled in, I'll try to take some new shots of it.

Thanks again folks @ CRO - wonderful experience buying from you.

    It's pretty awesome, Z! image

It turns out this coin is also one of those imaged for CoinFacts. I.e. TrueView without having the background of one.

Below are Phil's images. He was able to capture the luster much better, but CRO images capture the surfaces very well.

I also like the fact you were able to upgrade from an ANACS - good eye. Thats a winner.

If you can believe it, I bought it off eBay with bad images (as you can see below) since I was hunting that overdate for a while. When I received it, it was pretty clear that an upgrade to AU @ PCGS was easy.
