My 67 Topps set is finished.

I've learned over the years I'm really not a good set builder. I get too unfocused, feel the need to work on other projects, & can't stick with it. Completing this 67 set was a major project for me.

After the National I was down to 4 cards, & I found them tonight on the Bay. There are a couple cards I need to upgrade, but for now I'm just glad it's done. Jim King, #509 was the final card. Found a nice PSA 9 & snagged it.

    Congrats Ron.

I've had my 67 set as a project for over a year now, and its still 20 cards shy i think...but i haven't even touched it in 6 months....losing focus...and hating to spend the big dough on the brooks and seaver (but have the carew). Its not much fun spending $40-50 on a hi# short print common like mike shannon either!

Took two years, which is not bad for me. Acquired a great partial set & with time and patience went from there. It is a solid NM-MT set.

Key cards: PSA 8 - Ford, Cepeda, Frank Robinson, Mantle, Mays, Clemente, McCovey, Carew RC, Shannon, Red Sox Team, Carlton, Gibson, Banks, Aaron, Rose, Palmer (8.5), Perez, Cash, Belanger, Bunning, Colavito, Wills, etc

PSA 9 - Yaz, Killebrew, Seaver RC. Brooks is a nice 7, he will be upgraded.

Special thanks to backbidder for helping me with some of the highs, and to some good guys who will remain unnamed. You know who you are.

Now its on to the 66's. Down to 43 cards there!

Congrats Tom ... my favorite set. Back in the 80s I went from show to show, EVERY friggin Saturday and Sunday, buying many of those cards one at a time, until I completed the set. (Obviously in raw form.)

Great!! The Colavito graded 5, 6, or 7 and close to SMR is giving me fits as I upgrade my set. 1966 Topps will be tough with the high numbers, too. I'm sure you know that.

I'll definitely throw up some scans.....the great part about building this set is that I've been able to buy a couple lower grade sets & get a feel for what they go for.....highs are good in any grade!

    Ron,

Congratulations on completing your '67 set!!!!! I know how it is to stay focused; working on three or four sets at a time is not easy ... or cheap image. I am down to 30 cards on my 1991 Topps Desert Shield set; commons are a pain in the butt; especially the low pop ones. Good luck on your '66 set. BTW, can't wait to see the scans.

    Congrats! I'm envious....

I'm struggling to complete two sets myself (1956 Topps and 1975 Topps Mini). Only need 10 minis and 34 from the '56 set.

It's always exciting to hear about someone actually completing an old set.

    Congrats, Ron!

The '67 is a great set.

I'm still one card short on my '68 (The Ryan RC). I know you really helped me out on getting my '57 started. I appreciate it!
