Some Big News with PSA grading and Dealers!

Well here's the thing. I like PSA (have switched to BGS currently) but I still can't stand how they favour dealers. Want some proof?

I am currently building a website specializing in Vince Carter memorabilia. One category will have a section on his 1998 Sp authentic RC and what each card has graded. I've been tracking all his sp authentic cards by their seiral numbers for well over a year. A major dealer on ebay has listed a nice PSA 10 Sp authentic Vince Carter RC in the "New" PSA holder. Guess what that card was before?

A BGS 8 !!!!

Isn't that a shocker! He also has a 98 SPX spectrum Mike Bibby PSA 10 (very rare) and I have seen this card and trust me it's no PSA 10 (hence no pic of the back of the card!)

So I will always stand by saying, PSA and most other grading companies, favour dealers big time. I mean come on a BGS 8! That must be chewed on or something.

I am still waiting on the proof, how do you know that a BGS 8 is now a PSA 10? Do you have a scan of both of the cards? There's no proof in your statement, such as #'s, etc.

I wish I keep pic's of all the sp authentic's I catalog. Would you like me to email you a list of all the ones I have so far? This is the card I specialize in so I do keep track of what other ones grade so I don't purchase any reholdered crap.

Don't try and diss psa and come posting your wack azz vince carter cards on a psa board. Come with some proof. I like bgs myself, But damn if you wanna start some beef up with the psa and bgs addicts... come with proof.

Was it a bgs 8 bccg or onsitegrading blah blah what your card may get bgs?

Go check out any damn serial number and you will see that they all match! I don't fool around with this card man, this is the card that I have collected since 1998, I have owned a ton of them and never wanted to buy reholdered crap.

There are many examples of reholders in my list. From PSA to BGS and all sorts of other companies. Just imagine how many cards get fixed up and reholdered? This is just one example which is easy to follow because of the serial numbers. I should start tracking some other examples. Well it will all be in my website.

It was in a BGS holder originally when I saw it. It was on a ebay auction and this guy bought it (with a different user name) and resubmitted it.

As for the PSA 8 to BGS 9.5, if that's what it says on the list, that's what it got. It goes both ways man, I'm not bashing PSA, I'm bashing dealers getting favours!

I don't know about this graded market anymore. I just like psa because I know it will be authentic and not trimmed. Bgs is hurting themselves with the whole bccg and raw card thing. The bgs board is even mad that they did that. I understand what your getting at though. Good luck

oh and one thing airKobe08, do you mind taking off some of your movie clips (maybe one or two) it's making it hard to scroll on some of the boards. Just a suggestion.

I don't want to ruin your whole investigation,but, dealers and other frauds are breaking their Psa 10's out of case and putting in a lesser conditioned card. I'm guessing that is what the dealer did. It has gotten pretty bad, and I will not buy graded without a pic. Beckett is harder grader, but come on, psa 10 to a bgs 8. You still aren't taking in to consideration, of the handling of the card when breaking it out of the case, that alone can change the grade.

Naw I don't think that happened here, this is a new graded card. I don't think I"ve ever heard a person crack out a GEM MINT card to replace it with a lesser card. This is just a case of someone grading it over and over again.

Kobe is great man, you don't need to prove anything to Kobe hater's. Just get a pic of the rings he has. If it was all Shaq he would have won in Orlando.


On another note, I think the grading companies should keep track of serial numbers! Since new cards are basically all serial numbered, why not keep track of what they get or at least put it in the label ala SGC....but still SGC does not keep track of the serial numbers so they can be reslabbed too.
