Chris Drury won the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 2001 and won the Little League Baseball World Series Championship in 1989 with his team from Trumbull Connecticut

Jason Varitek in 1994 CWS was one. Georgia Tech lost to Oklahoma in the final game.

I seem to recall Joey Jay being the first LLG'er to make it to the majors. He may have played in the '57 and '58 WS w/ the Braves.

Can you imagine Sheffield, Derek Bell and Gooden all playing in Tampa little league together at the same time?

Marc Pisciotta was a beast back in the day. I believe he was 6' - 6' 1" when he was 12 and was the winning pitcher as Marrietta, GA won the Little League world series. I played against him in 1986 when I was 15 in the Babe Ruth Southeast regional in Huntsville, AL. He was playing for East Cobb then. They beat us (Lane league out of Charlottesville, VA) in the winners bracket final on his solo walkoff blast to left center. Pretty impressive considering that we played that game on the A's Triple A field. We came in 2nd when they beat us again a few days later. They later went on to become world champs again

Gooden is older than Sheffield.

I realize they were different years but just having a little league where there were 3 different future major leaguers playing on the same neighborhood ball fields every weekend would be neat to see. You'll see it now with the superstar AAU and travel league teams but probably not just from a local little league, that's for sure.

Ahh I misunderstood ya, Didn't Floyd Youmans play down there as well?

I think he, Gooden and Brown were all on the same team at one time.
