Cards are hard to tell from the real thing from the scans! Even more pathetic is the amount of dealers that purchae this crapola!

    I saw this seller a few weeks ago, it is pretty much promoting selling of fake cards on craigslist and resold on other ebay accounts.

    Dude this is crazy! To me some of these look legit. Do you think that he is taking pictures of some legit cards and then sending the fakes?

    "The card in the scan is the card you are bidding on."

    I guess not by a "legally" binding description, as legally as ebay seems to enforce people stealing 100k+ in fake card/coin listings (taking payment and running using stolen scans)

    Yes one popped up on Phoenix Craigslist not too long ago, a local dealer bought it and sent it in luckily the guy was (honest?) enough to refund him his money it was some kid early 20's saying his dad had given it to him.

    Isn't there some kind of copyright infringement by selling/making fake Topps cards, even if there from the 50's?

    According to The Sonny Bono Copyright Term Extension Act of 1998, the copyrights can be extended up to 95 years (past the initial 20 years, meaning it would be infringement), you see topps reprinting them on new sets as well as hertiage chrome and what not, so I'd assume they have extended it.
