1987 leaf rip..

I opened two boxes of 1987 leaf and boy are these cards hard to find in nice condition. Most were horribly centered and the black border makes it extremely hard to find a mint card. I got 2 G. Maddux cards that might grade a 9 (maybe). I got 1 or 2 really nice Bo's and Palmeiro's (sp). I did get one nicely center bonds with no white showing on the corners or edges. The centering was 60/40 top to bottom and 53/47 (approx) side to side.

I think the Maddux's will probably end up being his 2 or 3 best card. Low pop 9.5 (bgs - 51) and psa 10.image

Did you pull any Ripkens? A Ripken in 10 would fetch some nice coin (especially from me). image

I did get 2 or 3 ripken's and they were terribly off-centered. They would grade no better than an 8. image

  • Very tough rip indeed!

I ripped a box at the national and was able to submit a Maddux and a Brett. I'm happy to report they both came back 9s

    1986 isn't any better! lol
