Hey guys,
Was just playing around on the Internet and came across this website. Obviously just replicas, but seem pretty cheap for a jersey to hang out in. Looks like shipping ($20.00) is the same for 1 or for 9 (think it is free with 10). Have never ordered from them, so have NO IDEA as to quality.

Tabe ... yes, I assumed they were "fake", but for the price seemed like a good buy for those who like to wear the jerseys of their favorite teams.

Yup, you have the right idea Doug. Great to wear around to represent your favs. Don't have to worry about ketsup & mustard stains getting on them etc.
Company picnic? no problem....
Painting the house, toss it on....
And the girlies look good wearing an oversized one around the house on a summer morning!

So you'd have no problem with somebody displaying a fake '52 Mantle in a fake PSA slab then, eh?

WOW! Totally different! Talking about a piece of clothing that you are going to wear around the house, not a $25,000.00 card! It's a PIECE OF CLOTHING!!!!!

Yes, but far different from a piece of clothing that you pay $20.00 for to wear. And if you do think that way (which is fine, as a lot of non collectors do) then I guess you do not collect any cards.

<< <i>It would be totally different if they were selling them for the same price at authentic jerseys, but they are $35. It would be the equivalent of selling a Seaver RC for $35. Obviously it would be a fake and understood as such, but if they were selling them for $600 and put them out as authentic then there would be a problem.
Now back to your regularly scheduled program. >>
No, the problem is that they're stealing someone else's designs and logos, counterfeiting their products using cheaper materials and trying to pass them off as the real deal.

I'd venture to guess the folks at Reebok (who just ponied up for a 5 year NHL outfitting agreement), and the employees of Reebok Canada who produce the NHL authentic jerseys would also disagree. (btw Reebok replica NHL jerseys are made in Indonesia) For others looking to buy a real NHL jersey, it's pretty easy to spot a fake simply by looking at the NHL shield logo. The fakes typically have very frayed/loose stitching on the NHL logo. Also except for jerseys that have white and black as their primary colors, these counterfeiters have had a difficult time replicating the Reebok reds and blues and the more odd colors like the Sharks' teal...or aqua..or whatever that crap is. Spacing on the numbers and player letters are often noticeably off too.

If they are stealing the designs and logos. Maybe they are, maybe they aren't but my point was they are not charging $200 for a jersey which is what occurs with the fake cards on eBay.

<< <i>When I stated "fake" it meant it wasn't the type of actual jersey worn by the athletes but cheaper materials used to make the jersey. "Counterfeit" has a distinct meaning and by no means would this be acceptable. No one knows for sure if these are cheap versions licensed legitimately or actual counterfeits. If counterfeits and it bothers you so much, do something about it. >>
I have done something about it. I've personally been responsible for the destruction of thousands upon thousands of counterfeit goods that enter US ports. But, as long as there is a market for fake merchandise, from designer handbags, to shoes, to watches, ipods, movies, jerseys, etc., the Chinese and other counterfeiters consider the occasional confiscation and destruction of a shipment to be part of doing business.

Great job, but I was referring to the website mentioned by the OP. I was also clarifying my earlier comments with the distinction between "fake" and "counterfeit" which have different legal meanings. If they are proven to be counterfeits, then nail them as I said this is completely unacceptable. Like you said, they consider it a cost of doing business like drug dealers, etc.

<< <i>I guess I disagree with a few of you about supporting sellers of Chinese counterfeit merchandise. >>
I would agree with you if the price was not $300+ there is no way it cost that much to produce the jersey. Charge a fair price for the jersey and I'll buy the real one!

The jerseys on that site are counterfeits. They aren't from cheaper materials by the legal manufacturers, etc. They are unlicensed, bootleg, counterfeit, fake, whatever you want to call them - 100% illegal.
This is akin to all those guys on Ebay selling the $20 Mantle fakes on Ebay that people on this very board flip out over. And yet, on this very thread, we have people saying it's OK because the jerseys are inexpensive. Uh...ok.

Tabe, is there a site that shows jersey information for Mitchell & Ness jerseys? Specifically I'm looking to find all Julius Erving M&N's. Thanks.

I think this guy may be confusing the word "fake" with the word "replica". There are officially licensed replicas made by Reebok, Nike, etc., and in fact, the only NFL and NBA jerseys made for sale to the general public are officially licensed replicas (though they may be called "on field" or "authentic") as they are not the official game jerseys issued to players.
One need only glance at the prices on that site to know they're selling fakes (counterfeits)...$20 for an "authentic" NBA jersey with stitched on name/numbers? Try $250+ retail. Even the lower end screen printed replicas go for much more than $20. Yes, I do think the official ones are waaay overpriced, but that doesn't excuse these dirty chinese scumbags for knocking them off, just as the fact that Mantle cards are expensive doesn't excuse those who make counterfeits or doctor reprints to make them look legit.

Surprisingly...no. Even Mitchell & Ness themselves can't tell you everything they've ever made. I can ask over at Jersey Central and see what I can find out for you.
