This goes a lot deeper than just 1 person, though.
It's kind of like blaming the housing crisis on greenspan. greenspan wasn't rubber stamping liar loans, inflating house price appraisals, inventing negative amoritization loans, rating subprime CBMS' as AAA (that's a joke today with the downgrade) .... etc.

I disagree, Instead of sticking to the platform that got him elected. Obama has done more to carry out the Republican agenda than any other Democrat in history. Our great Presidents of history were not compromisers. He needs to call out Congress's inability to act like Truman when faced with a hostile congress and rally the people that elected him into Office behind him.

One of my customers is a licensed real estate appraiser. His company got bought by Citibank, which had a real estate arm, investment banking, retail banking, insurance, and title company. He complained in the late 1990s about the 5 way incest house of cards...the appraisers got pressure to say the house was worth what the realtor wanted, and if you balked, you were hurting the team, because the real estate commission would not get paid, nor the title fee, nor the loan origination fees, nor the house insurance, nor could the loan be packaged and sold off. Likewise the banks were told to approve "liar loan" applications, because if THEY balked, the then appriaser, the insurance company, the title company, the realtor, and the investment bank didn't get a piece of the deal, which all funnelled to the parent company.

Please don't ignore/forget who's been in control of congress. If you're sensing compromise in anything from the white house, that's what they want you to believe.
Fundamental change, from a country that never made the current white house 'proud', does in fact exist today. Do not forget that.
