    That would lead me to believe metals will be heading down as the world economy slows even further. jws

    Base and industrial metals drop from a lack of demand in a slowing economy. However, the problem the economies of the developed world face is a deepening debt crisis to which the only response central banks have is, more debt. Gold and silver are natural barometers to the fiat currency supply in the world and tend to go up in response to the money supply.
