    $2,250 is CPI inflation adjusted high from 1980.

    Who will fund the retirement home for the "adjusted for inflation" old-timers when gold hits that target??

    I've seen #'s as high as $2400 so I guess it depends on what CPI we're using.

    When shadowstats uses the CPI model from 1980 carried forward 31 years, that inflation adjusted # is in the $7,000's. So I guess the target is between $2200 and $8,000.
    If you toss sovereign debt into the equation then the number Sinclair arrived at in the 1970's to forecast $900 gold....would mean >$12,000 today. Just using an erroneous
    CPI doesn't seem to make sense as a reasonable target. It's ok for the first one though. This is now a debt issue rather than a price adjustment issue.

    Probably no one if the proposed Social Security reform measures are adopted. One of the measures is tying retirement benefits to a chained COLA, meaning the longer you receive benefits, the less they are worth adjusted for real inflation. Those not collecting Social Security already are most likely going to be on their own as the amount received will be worth less and less.
