I have been trying to purchase the individual bars of the 1969 Engelhard British Hall-Mark set for the last few months. When a complete set with the original holder became available on ebay I had to have it. Now I have it.

I recall 1969 being an exciting year. The most important events were of course the Jets winning the Super Bowl and the Mets winning the World Series. image

Oh yes, there was also something about a Moon landing.

    How heavy are those bars?

Thanks. That's a really neat set and all those stamps really add to their desirability.

I have to say, Those Engelhard London bars with the case are Very nice.

I have the sheffeild and edinburgh and was looking for the other two to complete the set.

The original case sets it over the top. I like!

Wow! That snake is in really high relief. It must have been struck several times.

I've never seen an original roll.
They took so long to get here, I think I'm in the black already.

  • My silver art bar purchase of this week.............................

A Coca-Cola-Shelbyville, KY silver art bar. Minted in 1976 by the World Wide Mint. I bought it today at a local flea market and I paid $46.00 for it (yesterday's spot close was $38.32/oz). Serial # 734.

DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a '70's silver art bar expert but I try my best to play one on the Internet.

I would break it open just to verify that there are actually 20 onza 1 oz silver coins inside.
