I just went through 10 1999-P MS-68FB dimes to find a decent one for Larissa's collection. There were spots, marks, scratches, etc., on every dime! Maybe my expectations are too high for an MS-68? The one we "settled on" was polished to proof-like fields above the torch. Here's her 1999-D:

I hear ya! Of the 10, there was one with a PERFECT obverse, but regretfully it had a reverse too!
It's amazing the dramatic difference (at least to me) between an MS-67 (modern) and an MS-68 (modern)... moderns take so many hits (or are made of lesser quality planchets?) that an MS-66 and lower looks like crap to me. An MS-60, 61, 62 modern looks really funny... marks everywhere, no surface wear and 100% luster remaining!
