Picked up a 25th anniv. VW 2oz poured loaf silver bar today in a velvet style blue bag. Any info on these? Value? Thanks

Any fineness marked on the bar? If not, I'd guess sterling or 925 fine.

Rough guess - double melt, partially because of the bag. Do you have the little printed insert that came with it? I believe they came with a box as well.

No box, but blue vw bag.. Its marked .999 fine

I have a VW bar without the bag, box and paperwork. They are .999 silver.

Below is a photograph I found on the internet of the complete set with paperwork and bag. Complete I would price these around $180 to $200.

I recall the bars were given to those purchasing a new VW during the 25th anniversary year (1980).

Thanks for the info! I found one for sale right now at apmex for $155. I got mine for $2 over melt..this never happens to me!!
