Are we experiencing AUCTION OVERLOAD now??

Just in the last two weeks alone, we have had a SLEW of auctions ending!! Just in the last two weeks alone, we have had: Greg Bussineau, Goodwin, Sterling, Clean Sweep, Huggins & Scott, etc (I am sure I have left out some). With Ebay constantly in the mix as well, and now the National is upon us, are we experiencing auction overload now?? Surely some items will be going too cheap for consignors since they might be overlooked.....

    perhaps.

however, i don't worry about that sort of thing anymore.....i just list away. sometimes an item will go for less than i had hoped/expected, but i find that just as often an item will realize more than i had hoped/expected. i figure that it all sort of evens out in the end and i stress less.

Most of those places only have 1 summer auction and they probably wanted them to end before the National. Plan on going a few weeks without seeing much auctionwise.

I have noticed that ebay auction summer prices have fallen more than usual. A card I track, 84-85 OPC Yzerman PSA 9, has fallen from the low $200's to $135 for the last one sold.

I didn't see Stevie getting a DUI or get caught with a bunch of blow, so I am surprised it has declined so much.

    Agreed.

It only takes two bidders who really want your item for it to bring in a record price. Also, there are more auction houses now since ebay has made it tougher and tougher for legit sellers.

Yes. I think more and more auction houses will continue to crop up. They are, for the most part, ALL succeeding. Heck, I'm surprised more members here haven't attempted to start thier own. Its not that auction houses AND ebay are doing a lot of business recently, its that auction houses are taking away market share because ebay has been become a fixed-price sh*thole.
