Sounds like about 50 ounces worth.

    Most likely melted down by now so they can't be traced back to their source.

    40k of gold if 'crushed' from the article so 25ish ounces. Hope they catch whoever did that, hate to think such a great raw gold display got melted.

    I was using their statement that it would lose 80% of its value if melted to mean it would melt at about $80,000 (20% of $400,000), which at $1600/oz. would be about 50 ozs.
