Looking for next adventure

Well, I have finally completed the 1971 and 1987 Allstate Insurance sets. The only thing left to do is upgrade the 1987 Lou Gehrig; mine is a PSA 6 and there are only two higher (both being PSA 7). If anyone knows who owns either of these two cards, I would like to contact them.

Now ... I am looking for my next adventure. I perfer older odd ball sets. I have many of the 1969 Nabisco Teamflakes raw (most would grade around PSA 5) and a few Milton Bradley's. I would like to here from the CU members on some possible sets to start working on.

Here is a scan of the Gehrig that I am looking to upgrade.

scmavl: The 1961 Peter's Meat set looks really cool, but with it being a "Twins" set, I would probably never really want the set; only the HK as I too was a HUGE fan!!!

IMF: There were 8,000 sets of the 1971's distributed and 15,000 of the 1987s.

I currently only own the Killebrew as well. It's just a neat set and somewhat challenging.

Thanks to everyone who has recommended new sets. I am sure I will find one that is a challenge. It took me over 5 yrs to finally get these sets. I would like to finish my 1934 Butterfinger set, but I haven't heard back from PSA if they will grade them or not.

Mike, I didn't even know my avatar changed. I must have messed it up while being in the profile mode.

    James,

1967 Topps Pin Ups...inserted in certain 67 baseball packs...only 32 but loaded with stars of the day. Only about 600 graded with majority of 5/6s. Most were torn, bent or pinned to walls. Here is a pic of one. Good luck!

Well, after quite a few responses and emails I have "narrowed" the list down to 9 sets. I am going to list the set, (#) number of cards in the set, and [#] the number of CU members currently collecting the set. I am in no hurry to complete the set and will attempt to put the set together in the highest grade possible (understanding the difficulties of other members collecting, toughness of cards, and not paying too much for the card). I would like to hear from the members on things to watch for and ideas from your experiences. Vote on the one you think I should start and reasons why, and in about 10 days I will post the results (After I return from Poland), start my new adventure and keep everyone posted.

    1960 Topps Tattoos (96) [0]
    1963 Topps Peel Offs (46) [7]
    1964 Topps Photo Tatoos (79) [2]
    1964 Topps Stand Ups (77) [50]
    1965 Topps Transfers (72) [4]
    1966 Topps Rub-Offs (120) [12]
    1967 Topps Pin Ups (32) [7]
    1969 Nabisco Team Flakes (24) [4]
    1971 Topps Tattoos (16) [3]
1974 Topps Action Emblem Cloth Stickers (24) [0] I am not expecting this set to get too many votes (No player pictures), but it does seem like a pretty cool set.

How about the 1988 Maxx Racing set?

Dialj, I would go with the Nabisco set...because old food issues are cool.

Nice Payton collection Pit. What kind of case is that you are using as a base?

I would do the Pin-Ups because they are far more attractive than the other options. [I'm working on a few of the other sets you have listed, but none of them very seriously.]
