My brother Bill and I went to FCW Wrestling and met Ricky Steamboat!!!!

image

I got to spend 10 minutes with Ricky Steamboat. Wow it was unreal!!!

What a great guy and to get to talk to him about Wrestlemania III and his fued with Ric Flair was insane!!!

The FCW was putting on a show a moment away from my condo so we went and then saw Steamboat and Steve Keirn and raced back to the house to get some items signed.

Both knew they were signing their rookie card!!!

The photo I posted is with his HOF Ring!!!

Scans to follow!

Awesome!! I'm from Raleigh, NC, and I remember being a little kid watching wrestling on friday or saturday night on the local channel. I believe they had a ring set up at the local TV studio. Ricky was there every week.....

I don't know why, but I find it funny that David (the fan) was in much better shape than Steamboat, the former superstar wrestler. If he didn't sign enough cards, you probably could have kicked his ass.

This is one of the coolest moments of my life!!

Ricky Steamboat was in the top 7 ever. He is a legend!!!

To get to speak to him about everything, meet his son, and just talk wrestling with a legend was such a huge moment.

I am still blown away at how cool he was.

He was so carefull with all four cards and does have two copies of his Rookie card and one of every major memorabilia item he has.

We talked about his MOC the LJN figure.

This was my first time meeting face to face a wrestling legend and he was awesome!!!

His wrestling items were going to his son but now to his grandson.

    Ricky Steamboat is awesome!!!

I thought my family and I were the only ones who watched that show. I am very disappointed that it's over.

He was great and I liked to watch him but I still think the greatest moment in WWF history is Superfly Snuka in Pipers pit.

  • FCW comes to Gainesville every once in a while and I've always thought about taking the wife out there and watching the matches. Sometimes they have a current superstar like Sheamus or John Morrison and of course older legends like Dusty Rhodes or whoever...I just need to score some free tix! Yes, I am spoiled. Cool pic, thanks for sharing.

BTW another cool part of Steamboat's career that gets over looked a lot is his 2nd run in WCW (starting in '91 or '92 if I remember right). He and Dustin Rhodes had some great tag matches, even won the tag titles and of course his feud with the Dangerous Alliance & Rick Rude and "Stunning" Steve Austin. Good Times!!

Awesome thread, Dpeck - and thanks for sharing the photos. Steamboat was my favorite wrestler! Very cool to hear he's a nice guy in person, too.
