  • You want to go in and change your settings so that it will not allow these international buyers to complete transactions, that will save you the hassle in the future.

Now if you choose to complete this transaction, EMI is the way to go in order to be PP compliant.

Yep, and prepare to have your stars dinged if you charge anywhere close to actual shipping because it is expensive. I stopped shipping international because most foreigners expect you to ship cheap and leave yourself wide open for an item not received claim.

As noted, USPS Express Mail International is the correct solution.

It is expensive; about $35 with the first $100 of insurance included.
Shipping any other way will likely result in a loss in a PayPal claim.

EBAY/PayPal have definitely taken the "worldwide" out of WWW.

    ..........

Folks who don't want international orders can simply block them
on the SYIF. As a backup, foreign payments can also be blocked
    in PayPal.

I am certain that I lose $THOUSANDS each year by not shipping
to international strangers. But, it is not worth dealing with the
fraudulent INR/SNAD claims and customs hassles, to me.

    ...................

    EDIT ADD:

If you use EMI, do NOT check the "signature waiver" box on the
form. Doing so allows the carrier to sign the delivery ticket; the
    buyer can then claim INR.

You might be protected by paypal because you have your customs form number proving you sent it. I don't know if it can be tracked from that but it is proof you sent but it could always get lost.

Make sure you put the stamps on the package upside down, so they will be right side up when the package crosses over to the southern hemisphere. image

Proof of "mailing" is not relevant, in this instance.

Online viewable proof of "delivery" is required.
