75 Brett - opinions please

Debating about bringing the attached Brett to the National as funds weren't where I'd hope they'd be by this time of year.

My question is minus the right edge is this a fairly graded Brett? lucky grade? What are your thoughts and if I'm looking to trade or sell for Campanella cards do you have a dealer in mind I should talk with.

Thanks for the valued opinions.

  • Just depends how noticeable that edge is in person. Otherwise than that it looks pretty nice to me.

Centered a bit high on front, imo, but a real nice card in an old holder.

That is a great looking card but I do not see a 10 in your future.

There is white on the edges that is ever so slight.

This card will sell for a very strong 9 and you will get above VCP is my prediction.

Jake, it's a nice card. It's not a 10 though, as someone questioned. If your going to sell it, don't do so at the show. A dealer will give you nothing close to VCP. If your dead set on selling, let me know, I will give you VCP for it. I would love having it in my post war HOF set.
  • Thanks for the opinions guys. My concern was if it was what you'd consider a solid 9, I wasn't thinking 10. I was hoping for VCP in trade for a Campanella '49 or a '52 Topps (plus cash if needed) hoping that I might get VCP trade from a dealer as the Brett should be an easier sell then a Campanella. (thou I know that may be a pipe dream)

As I said I'm debating on bringing it to the National, as this is my first one I'll have attended, I really hoped to have more cash to acquire the aforementioned Campy's, but bills take their toll and thinking if I could maybe move the Brett I'd have enough. I'm really in no hurry to move the card just wanted to know if solid 9 was what you guys were seeing to give me an idea as to what I should look for come August 6.

Thanks again for the opinions and advice.

doesn't the back look a little dull (color wise)...

Actually, the back is rather appealing--very nicely centered and no stray marks or imperfections as is common in the cardboard stock for this issue.
