I found out who uses SMR

I went to an estate sale this morning. It was run by a small business that handles sales for estates, Their notice to their email list indicated baseball cards.
The estate did have baseball cards, and not just '80s junk. The dead guy had about 50 PSA cards, mainly '60s HOFers. I think every one was priced at SMR for its grade - at least all the ones I remembered and checked when I got home were.
I doubt any of the people who work in that business know what VCP is, nor do they have time to do detailed investigations on the wide variety of collectibles they run across. Instead, they probably have a wide variety of price guides they use - even if they're way off, it's still a lot better than wild guessing.
I didn't buy any cards there. They all looked to be the type of cards where SMR is way high. [I did buy a couple sports bio hardbacks for $5.]

I don't know why I find this funny

Probably because you're a sick #$%@.
BTW, I found that funny as well.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
<< <i>The guy had 50 cards slabbed before he was slabbed. In bad taste, I know. >>
I agree, but I find it funny also...
