What 75th anniversary is this MLB patch??

75th patch

Take a look at my 2000 UD Chipper 75th logo patch. If you look at the pic of Jones on the card, you see it must say 75th annversary, and on the patch it looks like I am seeing "97"? Is that for 1997? What anniversary is this? So it would date this jersey, what year was this logo used on MLB jerseys? Is 1922 when the Braves nickname was started in Boston? Is that what this is? Thanks for the help.

Could it be a 715 patch for the 25th anniversary of Hank Aaron's 715th HR?
  • thanks Gastronome! I like mlbfan2 thought it was a "7" but it is just the edge of the patch. I was aware of the jackie patch, but I thought there was something different on chippers uni. HA!

( i had a lot of black outs in the late 90's, no joke.....)

I was referring to the patch on Chipper's uniform in the picture (not the actual patch attached to the card). The Braves wore a 715 patch in 1999, and that's what it looks like.

I agree that the patch attached to the card is the Jackie Robinson patch though.

My question is, who the heck is that on the front of the patch card?

It sure does not look like Chipper Jones!

HAHA! I know! When I first saw it I thought that looks like a young Joker before he put the paint on his face. Now we know why the Joker is so athletic!
