What player from any sport would you most like to have watched in person?
This is the ultimate no-brainer for me. It's got to be Babe Ruth.

Cool thread! I would have to break it down by sport. Here is the list for me:
Baseball-Ty Cobb
Football-Jim Brown
Basketball-Oscar Robertson
Hockey-Gordie Howe
Boxing-Sugar Ray Robinson
Horse Racing-Man o' War

I'd like to see Satchel Paige in his prime. From what I've heard, the stats don't tell the story. Maybe a barnstorming game with him pitching against Bob Feller.

Babe Ruth is my pick, but you know, I'd almost ditch that opportunity to have seen Mantles' 565-foot homer.

I would like to name two choices.
I would like to have seen Bobby Jones play golf.
I would like to have seen Gene Sarazen's Double Eagle on the 15th hole in the 1935 Masters.
The shot heard round the world.

Lincoln's Gettysburg address......
whoops, I'm sorry, did I spoil the sports theme?
Actually, I too would have wanted to see THE BABE play in 1927.
