Ebayer to block- mc8200

This guy hits the BIN on a $20 card in the pm and I get this message less than 24 hours later: "If the card doesn't ship by tomorrow, I'll like a full refund for my purchase. The way I pay, is the same way I expect the seller to respond!"
It amazes me that there is no industry in the world where businesses regularly ship the same day an order comes in, yet ebayers believe sellers should be sitting at their desk waiting for orders to come in so they can be filled immediately. Total delivery time is clearly stated as 5-6 days (meaning max 3 days handling on my end), if that's not cool with him he shouldn't buy from me. If it wasn't a card I was selling for someone I would've had the transaction cancelled and told him a couple or three things about himself.

Really? I buy things all the time from online places like Amazon and always know exactly what to expect. The problem that Ebay has in trying to make an Ebay buying experience comparable to an Amazon buying experience is the hobbyist sellers like yourself who set their handling to 3 days because they have better things to do. Yes, your buyer might be a little pushy, but all he was asking for was for you to ship his item within 2 days after the sale.
Pretty soon, EvilBAY will have to increase the capacity of the
BBLs again.
Months ago, I changed my "handling time" to 1-day. All of the
listed items are pre-packed and kept on shelves. When they
are sold, they are labeled and in the mailbox within a few mins
to a few hours.
The advantage of the scheme is:
By changing the "handling time" to 1-day AND entering tracking
info AND offering "free-shipping," the "shipping time" DSR is blocked
and auto-set at 5-stars. Since I always use "free shipping," that DSR
is also locked in at 5-stars.
This leaves only 2-DSRs to worry about. I usually get 5s on "as
described," but I stll get low numbers on "communication" because
I don't talk to the demented buyers as much as they want me to.
I used to chat-up the needy buyers, but had to quit when EBAY
allowed both the prison-bus and the asylum-bus to stop at the
site.
............................
Folks with lots of repeat buyers should consider opening a "warehouse"
at one of the free sites. When a sane person buys something from you
on EBAY, move the buyer to the off-EBAY venue; flyers/coupons/emails/
postcards will capture most buyers very quickly.
1) He was not asking, he was demanding. It just so happened I was going to fill the order the day he asked, but that's not really the issue here.
2) My auction states he will get his card within 5-6 business days; if that's not an acceptable timeframe for him then he shouldn't buy the card. This would be the same as him hitting the BIN and demanding I ship for half my stated shipping rate after the fact.
3) Yes, there are sellers on Amazon (and ebay for that matter) that fill orders in the same day, but it is stated upfront. Do you demand that they all do that?
BBLs again.

I've given up on any kind of DSR-related discount. If I get a discount, great. If not, I'm not gonna lose any sleep. It's just not worth the added pressure it puts on me to conform to the unrealistic expectations of nitwits that don't understand the system. Case in point:
- A month ago I send a guy a lot of basketball rookies for $70. He messages me saying one of the cards has a small stain on the back that I missed and his kids were disappointed with that one card, but overall very happy with the lot. I told him I'd send out a replacement of the exact card immediately plus a few extra for his kids. In addition to the sending the replacement and letting him keep the stained card, I ended up sending out around $50 worth of extra cards because I legitimately thought it was cool that his three kids were into cards. He messaged me saying he couldn't thank me enough, his kids love the cards, blah, blah, blah. Then he proceeds to give me 1 star for accurate description which just so happens to put me over the top and ebay takes away my 20%.
My FVF's are only around $500 a month so I'm not going to kill myself to try and save $1200 a year, especially if it means I have to cater to ridiculous people working within a system that gives morons way too much power. If I had more money on the line I'd probably implement a system similar to yours to limit the amount of damage these people can do.
I really really wanted to lose it on the person but I just quit communciating with them all together and had their emails being forwarded to my spam folder.
Really not worth caring anymore abouy 5 Star ratings and overall feedback. Not to mention seeing an increase on being robbed on the backend of deals with chargebacks on items sent to confirmed addresses and PayPal still steals the money out of your account and gives a refund.
As usual F eBay and PayPal.
then here is one for you to block geekhf (knew this was bad from the get go buyer has private feedback) anyway it takes him 19 days to pay of course I had started the NPB claim on day 16 my fault for not starting it sooner. item delivered 6-27 waits till 7-13 sends me an email complaining SNAD, hints partial refund, i reply and say send item back for full refund hear nothing till this morning still complaining. I know this is going to end bad even though I stated 7 day return policy he waited 16 days to complain.auction ended on 6-05 it is now 41 days since the auction ended.
I can just imagine the headaches to come when ebay changes the return policy in the next few weeks or months when ever they are changing it.
is there anyway to block all buyers with private feedback, as it always seems these are the idiots that complain the most??

No good deed goes unpunished. Or, as Durocher said, "Nice guys finish last."
"Molon Labe"
ebay has given all the power to the buyers which has allowed more scam/scum buyers , which over time will cause alot of sellers to leave ebay altogether.
yes take care of the buyer and treat them the way you would want to be treated, but also realize some things are out of the sellers & buyers control.
1. how long it takes the post office to deliver.
2. buyers & sellers do have emergencies from time to time. bad weather, health issues, transportation issues, ect ect. I remember 2 years ago after a storm, there were parts of my town without electricity for up to 3 weeks, the post office itself was closed for 3 days.
3. death in the family.
4. u name it.
I personally think it is a bunch of crap that returns are allowed on graded cards or graded coins or bullion at all, unless the holder is damaged in shipping or it is a fake or tampered with holder and now ebay is going to give the buyer even a longer time to return items. Example: I buy a 69 PSA 7 Mantle, send in for a review hoping to bump to a 7.5 or 8 it doesn't so I just send it back to the seller or I buy 10 ounces of silver thinking it will go up over the next 2 weeks but it drops like a rock oh well time to return it.
auctions should not be a 45 day approval service, let me buy it try to sell it for more for 30 days if it doesn't sell send it back. what a pile of $#^! . jmho

That's hilarious. Is anybody's wife ever not mad about their husband buying a baseball card?
<< <i>The latest was a buyer who wanted to return a card because his wife was mad that he bought. YGTBFKM.

I have yet to meet one... Just mention Derek Jeter PSA 10 in my house. Oh Boy! You want to see pots and pans being thrown across the room?

I once saw a 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle PSA 3.5 for sale so i put a bid in for $2K thinking there is no way i would win it. Well, I saw the email the next morning saying that i won the card. That was one of the few times I was scared to talk to my wife. I tried to convince her that it was a good price for the card and that i had the money for it but allI heard was "You spent $2K for a piece of cardboard with a picture oif some guy on it?" I did pay for the card and my wife is no longer upset (now). (I just bought a 1953 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 3.5 the other day but told her before i hit the buy it now button. She was actually OK with it.
Obviously a conditioned response.

Perhaps he would be better off if he kept the card and returned his wife.

"....do you have everything automated in ebay where the buyer gets an email when you ship, an email when they win? All that good stuff. Sometimes I think they just want to see a bunch of emails from the seller...."
........................
I enter tracking numbers and the buyers get an email from either EBAY/PP,
and the shipped avatar shows on their MyEBAY panel.
If you use PP-shipping the email is auto-sent. If you use another shipping
scheme, the email goes out after you enter the tracking number manually.
LOTS of buyers just wanna shoot the breeze with the seller, and don't consider
an EBAY/PP email to be "5-star communication." I'm too lazy/busy to chat
with buyers; thus, I still get lots of bad communication stars.

Yup.
When they are not trying to STEAL with their "buy"/borrow/ruin/return" SCAMS,
they wanna be BFF. It is mitochondrial; really.
I'll get to it when I get to it.
Dam, I knew I was doing something wrong all these years.

<< <i>I just got the same message word-for-word from another buyer on the opposite side of the country from the first one, this time within 10 hours of the purchase. The funny thing is I had already printed out the shipping label when I got the message. This must be some type of program that sends messages to sellers in an effort to get them to ship faster. I would love to know who the person is that came up with this idea for a program. >>
Had to be someone from here screwing with you

I totally understand your point (I really do), but there are PLENTY of eBayers that actually state the exact sentiment he expressed right in their auction. I know because I'm one of them. What's the secret? I ship within 24 hours because I never - ever - sell more than 5 things at a time on eBay. Ever. MANY people do that. Once they get used to sellers shipping quickly, anything less is a disappointment.
