Is Topps Selling Ad Spots in Sets Now?

Read the back of the Allen and Ginter Al Gore/Keith Olbermann card. Doesn't it seem like an advertisement? Is this what it takes for Topps to make money now?

    Seems as if it could be a political statement as well. Either way it's self serving.

    guess Topps doesn't bother with the spell-check function, unless "independly" is an acceptable alternative for independently.

    I also think Olbermann is the one responsible for the back's text (not the spelling mistake, though)

    It's like the modern equivalent of tobacco advertising. You obviously can't have ads for Marlboro or Camels on there, but TV stuff is okay. It would have been neat if they had some other ad variations.
