Back in it...
So lately I haven't been very active in adding anything new to my collections, or putting too much thought into it overall. I recently got the itch again, and I was able to add a few cards to my Sam Jethroe Collection. Not sure if this is the start of starting to get into it again, or if it was a one time thing, but it felt good to pick up a few beauties.
(Having some scanner problems lately, so I had to just take a picture...sorry about that.)

I recently have found myself picking up PSA cards that have the half grade.
They always seem under graded to me.

Thanks. I don't quite have the funds to buy really high grade cards so I just try and pick up the nicest looking cards possible. One of the best things this board has taught me is to buy the card not the holder. There is a '52 Topps Jethroe out there that is a PSA 5, and a little cheaper, but it is pretty off center.
<< <i>Is there any particular reason you collect that player? Is he from your hometown or something? >>
I collect Jethroe because I stumbled on his story while learning the history of the Braves franchise and I think it's a pretty neat one. He is a Negro Leagues icon, first African American player in Braves franchise history, won the NL Rookie of the Year at the age of 33 and lead the league in stolen bases for a few seasons before the wear and tear got to him and he retired. There is more to his story than that, but those are the cliff notes.
Besides Jethroe I primarily collect Warren Spahn when it comes to vintage, although I pick up a few other Braves legends every now and then.
