Bob Lecce was both a gentleman and a coin legend. He was a great asset to this hobby and an inspiration to me personally. I learned so much from Bobby as he was always so generous with his time. My heartfelt condolences go out to Richie and the family.

Went back to the 60's with Bob, now remembering the old NYC shows and all.

Always a gentleman. My condolences to his family.

I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

A good friend of mine, Dave Carr, mentioned that Mr. Lecce was not doing well awhile back. This is very sad news to hear. I never had the good fortune to get to know Bob, but I do know that Dave thought the world of him.

Before Bob went into the modern coin scene 8-9 years ago , he was a real high quality collector of California Fractional Gold pieces. We used to discuss collecting them all the time and we both had a blast.

I also first met Bob at the Statler Hilton NYC shows in the late 1960's when I was only 16. Very, nice to the collectors of the era.

In memory of Bob, I am showing the link to the five "all-time" finest registry California Fractional mini type sets that only Bob and I shared.

"Some things change and some things never seem to change" as the saying goes....

On the surface Bob was a constant. Someone that defined the word reliable, had his place at every major show, and always would win best dressed if there was a contest. But below it all, he was a maverick that understood this business as well as anyone and had the ability to change quickly when opportunity presented itself. He was a Fun guy and over the years I did countless perfect transactions with him. He has a wonderful family, that despite his love for coins and 24/7 work ethic, he seemed to put first. Everyone at my company will miss him dearly.
