Any thoughts or information on this shooting medal?

This medal and the photos belong to a friend at another forum who is trying to learn whatever she can about it. She said it is silver and she believes it was made in 1892. Thanks for any help or information.

It appears to be a fairly mundane shooting medal, commemorating no special event.
"With sight and hand for Fatherland" appears to be the translation for this shooting prize.

In my opinion, the most interesting part of the medal is the engraved name on the reverse, Ray E. Davies, Jr. I question whether Mr. Davies was shooting for the glory of any Vaterland.

Anyway, I would wonder whether there is some sort of stamp on the rim, identifying the minter.

  • Thanks. She said there are no markings on the rim. Some of the design elements remind me of some Swiss designs from the 1800's but I know very little about these and not much to go on. Thanks again for your response.
