Can anyone read the inscription on this coin?

Portugal Ceitil Alphonso V 1438-1481 (Alfonso V)
Very thin copper coin 20mm, 1.70gm
A ceitil was 1/6 of a real.

Ceitils are common and have many different inscriptions.

My guess using Magro's "Ceitis" Reference would be:

    Afonso V

Group 6 (Towers formed by square elements and without battlements)
6.1 (Curved wall, towers in two parts, 4th type shield)
6.1.12 (Right P* mint mark, very close loose waves)
    * - Mint: Porto (Latin P near the right castle tower)

The majority of the coins usually have the inscriptions damaged and tough examples are given in the catalog, nobody collects these coins by them, this particular coin inscriptions should have been something like:
: DOMINUS : CEPTA : ED (And Lord of Ceuta)
: ALFO(...) : REIS : PORT(...) (Afonso King of Portugal)

But it has its spelling errors (as usual for most Ceitis) it looks:
    .DONIMUS.CEI.....
    :ALFO....REI...POR...
(a bit of guessing from the 8/9 legible letters)

    A simpler/generic "Gomes" reference would be: A5 11.02

    Jose

I found it interesting to note that a few badly-corroded examples of this kind of 15th-century Portuguese coin were found by the archaeologists who discovered Fernando De Soto's first winter campsite, near Talahassee, Florida. They also found the points from crossbow quarrels and rings of chainmail.
