And of all the people that threw the ball up there, it had to be Josh Hamilton. I mean, here was a guy who brought himself out of the depths of drug addiction to become MVP last year, and now there's no telling what kind of PTSD and other emotional/mental health issues both he and especially that fan's son will now have to face. Even though it was indeed an accident, it still resulted in someone getting killed and for that reason, I have no doubt Mr. Hamilton will be quite messed up inside. And let me tell you, as someone who suffers from PTSD myself (childhood and recent employer abuse) and my wife also (incest survivor), it's definitely no fun.
All the best wishes to both Josh Hamilton and especially the fan's son/family as they try to get through this tragedy.
Way back when Dizzy Dean and PeeWee Reese were the announcers on the Baseball Game of the Week, late 50's early 60's. Dizzy Dean used to say a man would ruin a $200 suit to get a $2 baseball. Remember the time frame when the statement was made. People take all kinds of risks to get a souvinir baseball.
It was terrible what happened in Dallas. My sympathy for all involved including the player that tossed the ball into the stands. You know it has to play on his mind as well.

Very sad. I feel terribly for the fan's family and also for Hamilton, too. Most players ignore the fans when it comes to tossing balls into the stands. I bet more players are going to ignore fans going forward, now, too.
