I started collecting these recently and bought a few extra 2005's because APMEX was the only place I could find them and they were $82 each. I figured I could flip them for a quick profit but I held on to them. I looked at the price today and they are now $170.00 each. Does anyone know the mintage of the elephants? I read that it is only 5000 on another forum but they were guessing.
Great looking coin and minted @ the Bavarian State Mint.
They all have a proof like finish except for the 2004 which has a matte (sandblasted?) finish. The 2004 and 05 have a 1000 schilling denomination and the rest (2006-11) have a 100 schilling face value and all are legal tender in Somalia.
Anyone else into these?
