It's the worst I've ever seen. They are going through games with 4 hits, 2 hits, 6 hits.... fairly regularly. The pitchers have to practically throw a shutout to not lose the game. If the pitcher gives up 2 runs they are done. The Mariners organization is not fooling me. One little issue here and there with those starters and this could easily be a 100 loss team next year. This team is like a bunch of salmon swimming up stream to their demise. They have like 3 starters who are not even close to batting .200 You get the feeling that this is not going to get better either. They need a miracle offensively in the organization or this team is going to be doomed for awhile....No chance of winning with that offense. They have to hope that someone in the minors is going to be a MLB stud. Ackley is the only one to get excited for at all. Ichiro is little to no impact whatsoever.

There was an article last year that made the case that the Mariners offense in 2010 was the worst AL offense in the DH era. That's pretty impressive. And this year's? Might be even worse. .226/.293/.337 BA/OBP/SLG. That's amazing. You could field a team of pitchers and come out with nearly those numbers. In 2010, the Mariners had *7* guys with at least 32 ABs that hit under .200 - including one guy under .100. They had another *8* guys hit between .200 and .230.
This year? Three STARTERS under .200, another at .215, another at .218, another at .226. Ichiro, with absolutely zero power and hardly any walks, is hitting .277 - to lead all Mariners starters by *33* points.
And they are STILL at .500.
We're talking the 1906 White Sox here, folks.

No doubt. I saw a stat last night that in their last 20 starts, the A's rotation has a sub-2.00 ERA. That is filthy!
