Need Information: Pinnacle Be a Player Hockey Autographs

I have a friend that recently acquired a large collection of these and he was asking how to tell if they are pack-pulled autographs or in-person autographs. He states that none of the cards state anything about an authentic autograph and there is nothing that really notes an autograph issue. Further, it appears that there are many parallels with random die-cuts and different foil types. I'm not much of a hockey collector and do not have any knowledge about the autographs in this issue. Most of the autographs he has appear to be in the 1997-1999 issues; although, none of them seem to have the certification that a normal pack-pulled autograph would have. Any help would be appreciated as I may be interested in buying a few of the star players from this guy.

Thanks!

I honestly don't know with that issue (didn't collect them) but from time to time you'll see an autopen Gretzky from the first two issues sell for hundreds. Definitely want to make sure they're pack pulled authentic ones.

For the 97-98 set, the pack inserted autographs have the player name in gold and for the non-autos the player name is in silver. I think the backs are identical.
