Question about possibly picking up 1970's sets without the high dollar RCs?

is this something that is feasible?

im looking for full sets minus the high cost rookie cards (since its those that are keeping the full set prices fairly high )

    That's not a bad idea; that way you can get the big cards as PSA cards so there's no worries about them being trimmed or counterfeit or whatnot. I sure hope I can someday go back to doing that 1971 set...
