My first baseball card!

One day after Nursery School I went over to a classmate's house (a little girl named Beth) to hang out and do whatever four-year-olds do. When it was time to go and we were at the door, Beth asked me if I wanted some baseball cards. I had no idea what baseball cards were, but I said sure. There was a bucket next to the door, the kind kids play with at the beach, and Beth reached into the bucket and gave me a handful of cards. I had never seen a baseball card before, but I was instantly hooked! Here is one of those original cards:

Does anyone else remember their first card(s), or even have a scan of it? Would be pretty cool to see them!

Probably 8 I guess. Centering L/R seems off and I believe there is a bit of a tilt there too.
Great start already! Keep them coming!
<< <i>Here's my first baseball card. It was given to me by my step-brother in the summer of 1985 (I was 8). He was getting ready to leave for the Army (where he would spend his next 24 years serving), and he gave my brother and I all of his baseball cards. They ranged from 1977 to 1984. This Ripken card already had the writing on it, and it was pretty beat up. I've kept it in my wallet for about the last 18 years. Oddly enough, I still don't have this card in PSA 10.

That's a great card/story.....In case you are interested, Cal told me that the picture on the card was taken in West Palm Beach, FL during Spring Training 1981.........

My first cards are long gone. They were tossed out many years ago.

I think yours is way better than anything stuck inside a piece of plastic...
To the OP - I would get that card slabbed as AUTHENTIC and make sure I had it for the rest of my collecting days. Pretty kewl to have your first card!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

I have thought about that off and on, but I like being able to touch it. I don't have much of anything (can't think of anything actually) from my childhood. It's nice to be able to hold something that I owned over 35 years ago, especially a baseball card.
