Don't Laugh- Picked up lightly used Nikon E995 today- Need Help

I am a very old dog. First attempts were pitiful. I happen to know that one of the best coin picture takers on E-Bay use this camera. Any tips on what settings to use. I need help!

You need to use the flower icon with timer, wait until it (the flower icon) turns yellow then press the button and take your hands off the camera.

Just took this one with it.

Used manual setting -I used flower icon-- hit T button and zoomed in half way-- got sharpest and clearest image I've ever produced. Thanks.

Any other ideas? I'll look at previous posts on downloading pictures and will try to get a picture up.

use a copy stand or tripod
use 2 lights, or 3

use manual white balance,
ie
you have to adjust the white balance for the color of the light

notice the orange color cast to the coins you posted

Fix white balance and add a second light and you should be golden.

I like that model because it has a screw mount on the lens. I have an adapter to mount it on my microscope. All my pictures for varieties are taken with this model camera. When it goes bad I'll try and find another 995, since after this model Nikon started changing it too much for my Keep it simple approach.

I have always found it to take forever for the images to load, I just purchased this and it is so much faster!USB 2.0 adaptor
