Dansco Albums vs. TPG plastic.

I started in this hobby filling holes in the older blue Whitman sliding window coin albums and graduated to the higher quality Dansco's. As the hobby evolved, my disposable income increased, and when the internet became such a viable entity, I began collecting TPG coins. I still have my unc sets in Dansco's and for some series I also have completed sets in TPG holders. How many of us are in a similar situation? I often contemplate liquidating the album collections, but the ability to actually hold a coin outside of a slab dissuades me! Are there many out there in my situation?

Same problem, and luxury. Lots of slabs in addition to complete albums in some series. For me it's an old guy thing, I remember my doing the albums with my Dad and so that part of the hobby has stayed with me.

ive just completed taking 300 or so raw coins, down to 60 or so nice PCGS/NGC's
took about a year, selling locally, BST , submitting, etc.........Its pretty
tidy now..........

I trimmed my raw collections down substantially with the transition to graded coins. I keep a few raws in coin tubes as bullion coins and pocket pieces. That, and for sentimental reason, I have kept my old penny and nickel collections. I have even thought about finishing them, as a victory march.

apparently I got this all backwards...I started with slabs then got hold of a bunch of the National Coin Albums and I,m filling them with mint/proof sets from the late 1940s on up
