1964 Lincoln 1c with thin 1 of date

Found this while roll searching. The 1 of the date tapers down from top to bottom. Anyone seen this before or know what may have caused it?

Yes, it's from an overpolished die.

I remember seeing these in 1964/65,
and wondering if they would be as
'significant' as the 60 Small Dates,
1964 Pointed Tail 9 dimes, etc......

It's an example of the die process,
but common, and no premium to it,
    I'm sorry to say.

May not be worth a premium but it sure adds fun to the hobby, 'eh?

Die polish was my initial thought, too. You can see the die polish lines around the "1", in the picture of the coin questioned, but they are not in the comparison picture.
