Lincoln cent prices

Am I going nuts or did the prices on 1960s MS65 Lincoln cents recently tank? I bought a pair of 1962 and 1963 MS65 cents on eBay a week or so ago. Checked the PCGS price guide - prices were $18 each, so I bid around $13 each. A couple days after I got the coins, the PCGS price guide had them listed at $1. Not an earthshattering event (like if my 1885-CC MS65 PL Morgan were to drop to $50), but wondering if there is something going on in the cent market.

Looks like MS65 and below are just CoinStar fodder... make sure you take them out of the plastic first! image

I have rolls of these. Not a lot of 65's in each roll, but certainly a few. Since you can still get these at near face, the graded coins should be by no means be tied to any real value.

I wish all modern collectors had this much common sense, well stated

Kind of funny. I was populating a penny folder this weekend - trying to get my 8 year old interested in numismatics. Searched through about $30 of pennys in our collection for the bank. Found a nice red 1963 "almost" as nice to the naked eye as my MS65. I'm sure its AU, but looks kind of strange in a row of brown 1960s pennys. I only bought the graded penny to complete the Lincolns in my 20th century registry set. But its just as much fun for me to almost fill the penny folder from 1959 to 2008 as it is to work on the graded set.

In the past couple of months i've went through 12,500 cents , 5 bank boxes. From that i found enough to complete the zincolns P&D and a good many pre 82 all in amazing condition with full lusters etc , there's a lot from the 60's and 70's in stunning condition.62 and 64 seemed commen to find with luster out of all the 60's.
