eBay newbee question.

Im up to about 30 sales with no problems, but now have one.
My auctions clearly say "U.S. BIDDERS AND SHIPPING ONLY",
And I'm suppose to have the setting to block international bidders, but some how an international bidder won the lot. I tried to cancel and ask eBay to refund the FVF, but eBay says that I must go trough with the sale because the buyer refuses to cancel.
The reason i dont want internation is, it is too hard to predict shipping cost and the USPS can't have their act together and tell
you something different everytime you try to ship international..
..I am tired of eating it on shipping cost. image

I would immediately check my settings on buyer bidding on ebay. IF in fact you have it check as you said then I'd get
back on the horn with ebay and do some serious talking. I don't see how it could have slipped through the cracks but
    it may have.
You may be stuck with this one time sale.
    Good luck,

Just ship it, or take the neg. Sounds like you missed something

Once I set the accepted shipping locations, I never got anything but PM's from foreign eBayers asking me why their bids wouldn't go through

Agreed. You might have forgotten something. If I were you, I would politely contact the seller and state that you are uncomfortable shipping outside the US and that you are refunding their money. Also point out that the auction clearly stated US bidders only. If they agree, sweet. If not, I'd just take the negative. A negative is better than the chance of something going wrong and you getting ripped off.

while international problems of missing shipment , insurance situations ,
long delivery time , returned as not deliverable , etc. you can always know
what it will cost . www.usps.com
follow the prompts for calculate international , enter weights , country ,
type of service , and it will show you what it costs .
Our B&M now only ships by Express . It costs the buyer a lot , but it knocks
out all the nuisance buyers . Best of all , it has a true tracking number , and
our emails about not receiving packages has dropped to zero .

well, i agreed to ship it, BUT the buyer is now being very slow on
paying. I hope he goes long enough w/o paying so i can report
him as a nonpayer. Can he still give me a neg. for this?

Can't give you a neg unless he pays. If you have to ship make sure paypal details page says OK to ship, you ship only to the address on that page, and that you get the required confirmation (delivery for under $250 value and signature for greater than $250) You might want to go UPS or Fedex and leave the two different postal services out of the picture. Pay the little extra shipping, make another customer happy chaulk it up as experience.

Add to your descriptions: "Shipping to US only. No international sales."

The path of least resistance is to ship. Make sure your settings are correct moving forward. Unless you are really bored a call to eBay is seldom a satisfying event.
