BroadstruckBroadstruck Posts: 30,497 ✭✭✭✭✭
Just ordered a copy of this software as I was under the illusion I could use it with my D200 to preview images on my PC's LCD prior to shooting image

Is this true image

Then how did you do focus adjustments on your laptop with your D200 at a show image

I thought you mentioned it was Control Pro II that was allowing you to see the coin pre-shot image

You do not focus a D200 with camera control pro. My D7000 has that option and I do not use it as I prefer my eye to the liveview option. Nothing has convinced me a preview is better than manual focus, many of the sensors are just to sensitive to any movement.

I use camera control pro to see that shot as soon as I take it and then can make adjustments from there.

NCPII seems like a nice program and I think I looked into it, but do not recall if it works with a D70 (my archaic model).

As someone mentioned, you will not be able to view the image in real time, but I think you will still value the software.

It allows you to take a shot, view it on the screen, and adjust the exposure, then retake the shot very quickly.

It should really shorten your capture workflow -- I know it did when I used to have the D100. So don't put it in mothballs yet, as I think you will still see some value in the software.

That said, Liveview on the computer (something that the D200 does not support) is really neat and makes things even faster...Mike

p.s. Tom, I think your camera will connect via CCP2, but just not with the liveview feature enabled -- just like my old D100 and the D200 of the OPs (i.e. basically non-liveview cameras).
