Grading HOF/HOT Rookies..

Is it just me or is it harder to get Big time rookies cards graded high? I have had about 800 cards graded from PSA and Beckett and I have noticed that if a card gets hot or thee card has a low pop the grading seems to be a little tougher. When I send in marginal or less hot rookies I get more 9's and 9.5's than if I send in Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers, Pete Rose , Mickey Mantle, etc. Just wanting to hear from a few you.image
Work hard and you will succeed!!

No, they spend just as much time looking at a '52 Mantle as they do a 1991 Fleer Delino DeShields.

someone here just had a Big Randy Johnson rookie graded Gem Mint 10, so it's not that tough.

in all seriousness, it seems they do place a lot more importance on accuracy when grading the so-called "Big time" cards, but you can use a different perspective.....as the holders of the cards, it is also possible for us to place that much greater of our own opinion on a card based on intent and desire, as opposed to shrugging off commons and over-produced stuff.

many times i've sent in a card with a certain expectation, and i was able to understand why it was assigned a different grade after closer examination, and it's worked both ways.....imagine a higher-than-anticipated grade on the so-called "Big time" card, would your heart skip a beat? image

if i disagree with the opinion, then it's my option to get another one.
