I am guessing a low VF

Don't really know crap about Bust coins, but I'll speculate F12-F15.

My favorite series.image PCGS doesn't do anyone any favors by clumping these coins in with CBHs for grading. This coin looks like an F12 to me given the extreme wear on the obverse coupled with the higher end reverse.

Tough coin to grade but the obverse doenot have full rims at 3 & 9 o'clock which would put it in the Good range for me. The reverse has less apparent wear and would look like a Fine-12 to me.
The variety is an early die stage of the JR-6 which generally comes well struck and sharp. This would explain why there appears more detail in the center obverse when the rims are worn down almost to the stars on the right.
I would call it a Good-6 obverse- Fine 12 reverse and might average it to a VG-8 for pricing except that the rim ding on the obverse near the top would down grade it for me slightly from there.
    Just one persons opinion.

Given the weak rims on the obverse, I wouldn't be too surprised to see a vg10 on that one.

10 to 12. Reverse is stronger.

F12/VG10 liner. I'll go with the former.

    I think it's an 11. image

I'm sorry that the pcgs photograde does not have a separate section for this short series. I find it hard to grade them using the standard CBH guides. And, of course, I lack the special knowledge (demonstrated in this thread) about the striking characteristics of specific dies. I do, however, really like the look of this coin.

VG10. The obverse should eliminate any chance for a higher grade.

I know nothing about this series, but "LIBERTY" jumps out at me, looks almost like it is re-engraved.

One point to mention is that the coin looks original and unmolested. Very much a collectors' coin. I would grade it F-12 just for its originality.

I suspect that the obverse rim has been flattened (post-mint damage), and it will grade only "Genuine." It does not look to have been struck out of the collar, or the stars would be elongated. I have never seen one of these with a weak rim, which is what leads me to suspect damage. One way to tell would be to measure the diameter of the coin very accurately, such as with a micrometer caliper, and compare it with another coin of the same type. I would wager that the diameter of this one is larger than it ought to be.
