BBCE HOCKEY AND FOOTBALL MONSTER BOX BREAK!!! Final boxes on Page 3, Please look at, and maybe 1 mo

Okay it's time to put together a HUGE Football and Hockey Box Break. I have been all through the website and here is what I was thinking. Please give the board feedback, and let me know if this interests you.

Football Box Ideas:

1977 Topps Football Rack Pack Box ($1,600/ with discount $1,440 or $60 per pack
1981 Topps Football Box ($440/ with discount $396 or $11 per pack
1984 Topps Football Box ($440/ with discount $396 or $11 per pack
1986 Topps Football Box ($396/ with discount $396 or $11 per pack

Hockey Box Ideas:

81/82 OPC Box ($1,300 with discount $1,170 or $24.3 per pack
82/83 OPC Box ($350 with discount $315 or $6.56 per pack
83/84 OPC Box ($285 with discount $256.5 or $5.34 per pack
84/85 OPC Box ($750 with discount $675 or $14.06 per pack
85/86 OPC Box ($1,600 with discount $1,440 or 30 per pack
86/87 OPC Box ($1,050 with discount $945 or 19.6 per pack

Let me know your thoughts. This would be an Awesome Break!!!!! We will also allow 3 packs as the maximum during the first 48 hours for the Hockey as there are 48 packs in each box of OPC.

There would be $16,435 of Retail pricing Box breaks. Who wants in on any of this. All feedback welcome...

Looks like a nice collection of 80's hockey boxes on the BBCE site. I don't collect hockey packs, but I will for this break.

It would be good to get feedback from the hockey guys as to what 80's boxes are best to break. Also, I'm assuming you guys favor OPC over Topps. Any feedback will help narrow down what we ask Steve about.

Thanks again to miconelegacy to get the ball rolling!!!

That's a lot of expensive packs, maybe we can do something in the eighties.

You can't lose going with 1984 or 1986 Topps and 1989 Score. They always sell out.

Edited to add: You may want to see how many boxes are available of said years....with the response already, they'll go fast.

I love the OPC hockey and you can count me in for that. I wouldn't mind also adding the 86-87 OPC Box, this includes rookies of Roy, Wendell Clarke and Vanbiesbrouck. I personally prefer and like OPC over Topps. I can't wait for this rip.

I will redue some of the football, the 77 Rack Box though I think we should do. I'll put some 80's Football in there.

I can add another OPC box for 86/87 Hockey.

Do we think that run of OPC Hockey is realistic? I would get 3 of each box.

Let the board know. Please give your feedback so we can build this together.

If you add in 86-87 O-pee-chee hockey I will take one of those too. I may even take 2 packs of each hockey but, you can count me in for at least one of each for sure.

Lemieux is a double print so likely more than 2. That's been my experience with these.

I believe all OPC hockey boxes in the 80's up until either 1988 or 1989 included 48 packs and not 36 packs, some of those prices per pack may need to be updated. You can count me in for atleast 1 or 2 of each of the OPC packs.

Last 85 Topps hockey box I broke I got 5 Lemieux's and 5 Gretzky's, as they ran together in the sequencing.

1980 OPC is a Tom Hanks money pit.

    1981 OPC is awesome.

The rest are so cheap it doesn't really matter, but 1986 OPC only has a couple of hits and is now officially overpriced considering the softening market for Patrick Roy.

But I'm in on this break. Can't let Mathew do this alone.

I have changed the boxes around. The other boxes I was thinking of is the 84 Topps Cello Football, and a box of 85 Topps Football. If we did both of those, that would be 6 boxes for Football and 6 for Hockey. Let me know your final thoughts, as I want to get this live tomorrow.

Edit: There is also a SWEET 1981 Topps Football Rack Pack Case for $2,500/ with discount $2,250. There are 3 boxes and 24 Racks per box. That works out to be $31.25 per rack. We would start this product off at 4 pack max for first 48 hours. Choices.......

    Thanks,

When all is said and one, if anyone want to flip some of their OPC hockey - I might want a few to finish my sets from 1981 to 1983 (mostly commons).

good luck with your box breaks.

I like the football the way it is and I was going to post about the 72 pack rack case of 81 but it seemed like a lot considering the price point. Maybe we can start the word now and do that one next month or the month after if we get enough of a response. I'd actually be interested in splitting a case in a few months with a couple others if it's still available and an actual box break doesn't materialize. As for the wax packs, I'm in for the max of each 81,84 and 86 in the first 48 hours. Yes, all is well now, just had X-wife issues I had to deal with >/

I believe this is for the July break and we're just trying to narrow our selections down. Just seeing what people are interested in so that it will sell out.

    Morning,

Just an FYI to the organizers, I would normally be all over most of the Football, including the 77 Racks, but cannot spend this kind of money, mere Weeks before the National. Just not gonna happen!! Perhaps a Aug or Sept break would work better for some of us.

    Thanks
    Neil
Actually Collect Non Sport, but am just so full of myself I post all over the place !!!!!!!

I understand this break will be just after we had a big Baseball break, and the National is coming up. There were a lot of people that wanted Hockey and Football, so we are organizing this break. I think we all want a baseball break each month, but there are a lot of Hockey and Football collectors on here to.

I just spoke with Steve and will be posting what we will be breaking in a few minutes. For those that can join great, if not hopefully you can join us next time.

    Thanks,

Here is what will post on another thread at 9:00PM Eastern. Steve informed me the 85/86 OPC Hockey is Sold Out, the last box was sold on Saturday. Here is what we will be ripping. The new post at 9PM will have the basic rules and guidelines. On the OPC Hockey you can get 4 packs for the first 48 hours and then 4 during the next 48 hours versus just 2. This is due to the fact there are 48 packs in the OPC boxes. To see all the rules check out the other thread from the Baseball break we did a few weeks ago.

Also Steve does have multiples of most of the boxes, so if we sell one out fast we will put another box in place.

1977 Topps Football Rack Pack Box ($1,600/ with discount $1,440 or $60 per pack.....(24 packs)
1981 Topps Football Box ($440/ with discount $396 or $11 per pack.....(36 Packs)
1984 Topps Football Box ($440/ with discount $396 or $11 per pack.....(36 Packs)
1986 Topps Football Box ($396/ with discount $396 or $11 per pack.....(36 Packs)
1989 Score Football Box ($235/ with discount $211 or $5.87 per pack.....(36 Packs)

    Hockey Box Ideas:

    81/82 OPC Box ($1,300 with discount $1,170 or $24.3 per pack.....(48 Packs)
    82/83 OPC Box ($350 with discount $315 or $6.56 per pack.....(48 Packs)
    83/84 OPC Box ($285 with discount $256.5 or $5.34 per pack.....(48 Packs)
    84/85 OPC Box ($750 with discount $675 or $14.06 per pack.....(48 Packs)
    86/87 OPC Box ($1,050 with discount $945 or 19.6 per pack.....(48 Packs)

One final note with Hockey. There is a beautiful 80/81 OPC box. It is $3500, with our discount it is $3,150 or $65.62 per pack. I would love to buy some of this years packs. I think because it is so expensive we would open it up to 4 packs for the first 48 hours and 4 the next 48 hours, so it will sell.

I think that's it, let me know what you think on the 80/81 or any other thoughts and ideas. Again look for the thread to go live at 9PM eastern.

    Take care,
