Thoughts on this auction?

What I see is a big headache for the buyer who tries to move all this stuff. Are there some jewels here that I'm missing?

That makes it tempting to put a lot like that together, and just mix some nice cards with a lot of junk that I would otherwise throw away.

50,000 card lot

I was thinking the same with you. I have a bunch of that stuff I would sell for $2,600. By the way, I wouldn't have paid $260 for that lot.

Well this eBayer just sold someone a comic collection that was $30K + and the buyer said it was complete junk. Was a discussion on one of the CGC comic boards about this eBayer.

This sports card lot looks like complete junk.

It is complete junk, I can see why the father/son card business failed. $60 for a 91 Stadium Club Barry Bonds will do that to you. The only single card I saw of value was 1 1989 Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr. The only set/box material with value are the T206 reprints. I love how the seller put a T206 Honus Wagner in the middle of one of the card photos, if you missed that one, there is a other photo with the card just peeking from the bottom. Overpaid by $2200 and that's being nice. I wouldn't buy any of it.

One of these days there will be some nice 80's/90's finds out there. Maybe a couple unopened cases of Magic The Gathering Alpha? Maybe buy a case of junk 91 Topps Baseball, open a box and find little Desert Shield symbols on them. That would be nice!

Looks to me like the house shills bid it up and there actually was no buyer - just my opinion.

91 Stadium Club baseball will have a resurgence one day.....Its still the best looking set of that era and kids who were 10-15 when that set came out will want a complete set one day. I still buy boxes of series 1 when i see them in shops for super cheap.

You'd have to pay me to take away all that junk.

You guys are crazy! Did you not see the two sets of '91 Fleer Baseball??? TWO SETS!!! Those are worth at least the sale price right there!

Seriously though, I would have liked the '84 Topps uncut sheets, but that's about it. I'd go maybe $25 on one.

2.5 is pretty much my speed.

At the height of the player registry about 4 years ago this collection would've been great due to all the oddball stuff (that Will Clark binder could've been worth $1500 to a savvy card submitter), but I can't see it being worth more than $500 in breakup now. Looks like those high priced 91 Stadium Club were the non-stamped version which actually commanded a big premium as proofs/errors back in the 90s. Looks like these guys stopped dealing in 1995 and sold all the good stuff, but that doesn't mean there aren't a few random $20 inserts scattered throughout. About 98% of it is worthless though.

Well you obviously didn't notice the 86D Canseco. image

The buyer probably thinks he can eventually sell each card for $1 and profit 47K.
