i know people are busy but...............................
I called teletrade to have them auction off a thousand widgets.
and i sent him a list as requested.
his response was "let me mull this over a few days to best determine how to sell your widgets."
ok
2 weeks pass.............no response.
so i call...."hey there, wazzup?"
"we just went to a big show....let me mull this over a few days to best determine how to sell your widgets."
2 more weeks pass.............no response.
sounds to me they're not interested in selling my widgets.
anyone else get this kind of customer attention from teletrade?

This is the first comment of yours I found to be really, really funny.
Congratulations.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Man, you are always good for a few laughs!

I agree. He seems to be aggressively seeking clients and promoting sales/auctions. Can't hurt to give him a call.
<< <i>There's no money in widgets. Teletrade has always been very professional with me. >>
That's all well and fine, but if there is no money in widgets wouldn't it be professional to inform the person that they have little or no interest in selling his widgets rather than just appearing to ignore him?
then perhaps the guy is grappling with the same issue: the effort to sell the coins individually exceeds the projected value of the pieces
(maybe break them into "lots of 10 different" or something (25?) and just let 'em run on ebay... or BST: or try a gimmick: Mystery slab $3 each delivered, or 10 for $25, similar to those "wrapped penny rolls" you see on ebay with indians or silver dimes on the ends, and 1950's wheats and early copper memorials inside.
not trying to be snide but only helpful, this batch of slabs seems like it might be a bit of an albatross the more one tries to get what it's "worth" on paper

IIRC, "mystery auctions" aren't expressly allowed on eBay, but you are on to something. Maybe bundling 2 or 3 of the higher book value ones with 7 or 8 others and selling them in lots of 10, as you suggest.
Or maybe selling them all in one lot as grandpa's hoard?
