Understanding early copper errors - my way

My handyman/friend has just gotten into numismatics. Being very mechanically inclined, he has a major interest in die preparation, striking techniques, and how error coins are made.
I know I've mentioned that I have Asperger's 83 million times, but it presents a huge problem with respect to learning.
For example, I had a very hard time attributing early copper by die variety. The nomenclature and methods did not suit my brain. However, once I found a way to do it (a process which I created and perfected), I was able to use my AS to my advantage and literally beat it to death.
So as far as errors are concerned, my handyman is creating a device which is going to allow both of us to visually see how brockages, brockage makers, Castaing errors, etc. are created. Thanks to a long conversation with some key EAC collectors, my understanding of this has increased (it was necessary prior to the first Davy sale last year).
I do not care what you collect, knowledge is universal. Finding THE way which clicks in your head is not always easy. However, in the end it's well worth the effort.
