Coin Dealers In NJ?

Howdy everyone!

A google search shows a plethora of coin dealers in Jersey but not many reviews or information on them. I see a TON of NJ people posting I was hoping some of you could point me in the direction of a good B&M shop or dealer!

Also I was wondering if the Garden State Coin, Stamp and Currency show was any good! Never been but think I'd like to go in July! Thanks guys.

Tom Hyland is in your neck of the woods, but he does not have a store. However, he does set up at the "Parsippany" show you referenced. That's arguably the best, one-day coin show in the US.

Bob Adams has a shop in Sussex County, and Dart Coin is in Middletown, NY, which I believe is right on the Sussex County border. Both of these establishments are good.

I've known Tom Hyland for years and he is a good dealer. Same goes for the Stypanski's of Dart Coin. Go to the Parsippany show the first Sunday of the month to check out both as well as dozens of other dealers.

What they said... I loved going to Parsippany when I lived in NJ.

I should add that Parsippany was also the first show I ever went to, thanks to Tom's prodding. He gets credit for showing me the ropes, as well as some gorgeous coins.

I also recommend Tom Hyland and Tom Stepanski and going to the Parsippany show.

Don't forget, the next Parsippany show is Fourth of July weekend. I've never been to the show in July, but I have to expect that it's smaller than a non-Holiday weekend show.

I have been to the August show and it is definitely smaller (and quieter - less floor traffic) than the October through June shows.

The September show is, of course, on Labor Day weekend, so I've never been to the show that month, either.


There are a number of other coin shows in New Jersey, including one in Sussex County. I don't recall if it's an annual or semi-annual show, but either Tom can tell you.

I'd suggest keeping a weekly eye on the coin show listings on the Coin World website, starting in mid-August or so.
