Opinions, Jeter auto... who to believe JSA or PSA???

So I purchased a JSA Jeter rookie for my signed rookie topps collection... I was hoping to cross it to PSA but no dice - who got it right PSA or JSA???

Contact board member minorleaguesource. He knows Jeters. I'd trust his opinion on Jeters over both PSA and JSA.

I believe minorleaguesource uses JSA most of the time? My guess is that they have someone at JSA that really knows Jeter autos very well. I would have no problem with JSA's authentication.

My biggest concern are the hooks that start the first "e" in Derek and Jeter. I've never seen legit ones where they start and pull back to the left. The hook and roll on the "r" in Jeter isn't as I've normally seen it, either. I'm using my 5 PSA/DNA and 3 JSA Jeter autos as exemplars as well as the many that I've cataloged over the years as his signature changed.

I'm far from an expert, but there are enough "unique" aspects to see why PSA/DNA would have rejected it.
  • The auto is real.

I feel in my opinion that the person who is authenticating Jeters at Psa isnt that good at it. I dont know how to say it any other way.

Again in my opinon Psa doesnt know any of the era's of Jeter signatures. That simply arent that good with Jeter.

    Best regards!

thanks for the reply... it's sad PSA does not have a better Jeter person (seems like a major player they'd like to get right!). I've noticed they have been poor and rejected several modern players I've subbed that were known good auto's.

Do you happen to know what era Jeter sig mine would be considered?

  • These are all in person signed a few weeks before reaching the big leagues.

I also believe that your Jeter is real and probably was signed in1994
